RSVP- Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

Welcome to RSVP! As an RSVP volunteer, you are a part of a national organization that incorporates over 450,000 volunteers who have volunteered over 78 million hours. Whether you volunteer for a hospital, deliver meals to the homebound, work with induviduals to build skills, are active with community groups or crochet clothing for dolls, you are giving your time to Callaway County.

RSVP, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, is a federallly funded program sponsored by SERVE, Inc. RSVP is a part of The National Senior Service Corps, a network of national service programs that provides older Americans the opportunity to apply their life experience in meeting community needs to make Callaway County a better place to live. RSVP volunteers serve in a diverse range of nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and faith-based groups. RSVP is opent to people age 55 and older. SERVE, Inc. is a Callaway County nonprofit 501(c)3 agency funded by the Corporation for National & Community Service to sponsor and operate an RSVP project in our county. SERVE, Inc. RSVP recruits seniors to serve from a few hours a month to alomost full time with area agencies through-out Callaway County. RSVP provides appropriate volunteer insurance coverage, and RSVP volunteers recieve pre-service orientation and in-service training from the agency or organzation where placed.

RSVP volunteers share their time and talent in a variety of interest areas, including Health/Nutrition, Human Needs Services, Education, Environment, Community & Economic Development, and Public Safety.
